A fantastic start to March 2023 with the news that I had won the Up and Coming Photographer of the Month Award from the Master Photographers Association.
This is a great motivator to push on and attain the MPA Licentiate Qualification.
New Project - "Carluke Business"
I've just started a new project focusing on small business owners in the town I live in. I shot the first image last weekend. The subject was a wood-worker and up-cylcler called William Armstrong. His business is called Wull's Wood and his workshop is the ideal location for an environmental shoot. I have a meeting with a local business woman this week to and I'll be approaching other small businesses in the area over the coming months and will update this blog with the images on an ongoing basis.

Vegas UK
Vegas UK is going to be a 3 day street photography project later next month in Blackpool covering the contrasts that exist in the famous seaside resort. A favourite with older generations who remember summer holidays by the sea, the piers, ballroom dancing, arcades and sand castles. In contrast...also a favourite with Stag and Hen parties, Vegas style weddings and raucous after dark partying. I'll be getting up close and personal with all of it and can't wait to share the results.
Album Cover
This month will also see the start of an album cover project that I have been discussing with a local musician. The album will almost certainly be on vinyl so plenty of album cover real estate to work on. I will share when complete...
Studio Space
I've been in discussions with an organisation that works with Scottish artists and creatives to provide studio space and I am currently waiting on an update about this. This may take some time to materialise but am excited about the chance of getting a space closer to the city to experiment with.
Other stuff
My main passion is portrait photography but I did dabble in pet portraiture after our Cockapoo, Ginny cam back from Doggie Style over in Uddingston. Thank you Shannon & Team. It's the internet so no post is truly complete without a dog photie...
