Portraits on the street

During the Corona Virus lock-down in the UK I realised what a privilege it was just to be able to walk freely throughout our global communities and I made a promise to myself to reconnect.

Life eventually returns to normal and the restrictions that we all had to endure fade more with each passing day but I still walk the streets with my camera and continue to approach complete strangers and start talking to them out of the blue.

So far...it continues to be a positive experience and quite rewarding on both sides of the lens.

The streets can be a challenging place to find the right light, especially when you try and direct a complete stranger that you have just accosted!  The experience of having to improvise and work quickly has been invaluable practice for my other portrait work and I will continue to develop this project on an ongoing basis.
