Why I love Wedding Photography in Scotland Part 4

It’s dark. It’s November, in Scotland. I’m booked from 6.30pm till 9.00pm. Sunset was 4.30pm. The party is on The Tall Ship Glenlee in Glasgow.

I arrived an hour early, checked my gear, boarded the ship and introduced myself to the staff and saw some familiar faces. It was the same caterers from the wedding I posted in my last post up in Kinlochard.

The Tall Ship Glenlee is quite a venue, from the Poop Deck down to the hold via multiple levels with almost vertical staircases and low doorways. It’s a bit of an adventure playground and for any photographers out there…bring a fast lens because it’s very dimly lit.

The guests starting arriving and everyone was in great spirits. Weddings always have a great vibe. I love them for that. There were imitation candles everywhere and I managed to get a beautiful candlelit portrait of Lucy sitting on the stairs while we were waiting for the bridal party to go out for the formal group shots…

The evening went without a hitch and I drove home with a smile on my face and another unique experience under my belt. No two weddings are ever the same, but this one was slighty more “not the same” than most.

The venue was really quirky, the guests were really cool, the weather was cold, the night was dark, the couple were absolutely amazing and those are just some other reasons…I love being a Wedding Photographer in Scotland!
