For more complicated photoshoots I have a selection of studios that I use in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I am available for all general events and specialise in gig photography. Being a musician myself, I understand the requirements from a gig photo shoot. You should be able to use the images for Facebook and Promotion and I make sure that there are a good selection of general gig shots that convey the energy of the gig but also make sure that the following things are taken into consideration...
The whole band is visible! I will make sure I get into a position where all of the band members feature in some of the shots. There is always a challenge in the majority of venues getting a good shot of the drummer but it makes a great difference for promo if you can see the whole band
Each band member has a close up of them in action.
Shots of the audience getting into the music
I use the available lighting wherever possible to get some shots that are close to a studio look
If the venue is known for very poor lighting (which is most of them!) I can arrange to bring portable flashlights with gels and light the performance area as if it is a large stage gig and shoot the sound-check (Extra costs involved but everyone is in the same place at the same time...how often does that happen?)
All images are provided for review in a password protected area of this web site and are not published without permission. How often has someone taken an image of you at a gig that you hate and it pops up on Facebook? The risk is that when someone is looking for an image for the gig review, magazine article, newspaper etc...THAT is the image that gets picked! I am very careful about your "brand" as I am acutely aware that the image on any publication can have a considerable influence on whether the reader is drawn to the text of the article or not!
Photoshop is a tool to improve images...take away distractions, add mood and take away minor blemishes. If required I can put you on top of the Eiffel Tower with Beyonce swinging in from a helicopter, delivering your guitar...but I'd rather not!
Prices for gigs can be found here (Pricing)*. Enter the number of images of high and low resolution in the blue boxes when the file opens from the previous link.
Street Photography for me is a passion and I spend most of my spare time pursuing this. I carry a camera wherever I go and am always amazed at what is going on around me. I am a perpetual student of this art but believe that the best way to learn is to get out there and do it. We are all unique, as are our interpretations of the world around us.
I will take you on a tour of some of the best locations in Glasgow or Edinburgh and show you some of the tricks and techniques about how to go unnoticed and how to use colour, light, surroundings and the human element to get the most out of your time on the street. I will encourage you to take risks but will never push you too far out of your comfort zone. The more time and practice you invest on the streets the more comfortable you will feel. It is an exhilarating experience capturing the world around you but to keep it firmly placed within the boundaries of "fun" it is essential that you go at a pace that you are comfortable with. I can help you with that and make sure your day on the streets is as enjoyable as possible.
As part of this course I can also provide you with online references that will inspire you and enable you to progress your learning further.
The cost of the 1 day course is £100. We will meet up at 10.00am for a coffee and introduction and but on the street from 10.30am till 4.00pm with a 30 minute break for lunch in between. Courses will normally consist of between 5 and 10 people and payment is due in advance via Paypal.
There are currently 2 horses in the family. Yasmine and Belle. Although I am not a horse rider myself I have no option but to learn the joys and heartbreaks of owning a horse and over the years have developed a deep understanding of the bond between horse and rider. It is the topic of conversation across every dinner table every night :-)
Individual portraits of your horse can be commissioned and we can agree on what format this will be in. Examples include, but are not restricted to...
Albums and art paper prints are available with both packages for an additional cost.

Most people have an old beat up photograph of a relative in a drawer in a room somewhere. It is normally covered in scratches and can be so faded that your Great Grandfather/Great Grandmother is almost unrecognisable.
A recent discovery of an old glass plate negative and another beat up old black and white image set me on a mission to learn photo restoration a couple of years ago. I discovered pictures of my grandfather as a baby. My Great Grandfather and Grandmother were pictured holding him outside there house in Berwick and as I gradually started uncovering the details it became an extremely emotional process. I've had the privilege of working several of these projects now and the look in the eyes as a great grand-daughter sees her great-grandmother for the first time in detail and in colour is a remarkable experience.
